Review
Aroma: 19/20
Beautiful dark berries, and cherries with smokey. mineral notes that enrich the whole.
Appearance: 9/10
Gorgeous ruby red colour, with a clarity indicative of this varietal.
Flavour: 39/40
Cherries come through strongly in the flavour, backed by a refined oak, and a delicate minerality with hints of cinnamon, nutmegs and a touch of toasted nuts. Exquisite lightness and gorgeously multi-layered with a lovely, rounded and velvety finish.
Mouthfeel: 9/10
A beautifully light experience, that nonetheless finishes with an inviting fullness.
Overall Impression: 19/20
It’s hard to overemphasise how lovely this wine is. Clearly made by a master vinter, it balances all of its elements perfectly. Sweet fruits, blend like smoke with gentle tannins, structured oakiness and delicate minerality. It would make the perfect accompaniment to a slow-roasted, pulled pork or seared tuna.
