A family of 21 were all onboard the game vehicle at the Thornybush Game Reserve in South Africa when they came across a pride of lions who had just pulled down a buffalo calf. This was nowhere near the end of the story though as the herd of buffalo were determined to get the calf back. Led by the calf’s mother they charged the lions who ran off allowing the calf to get away.
Unfortunately, the mother over-committed on one charge, which left her surrounded by the lions who took the opportunity to pull her down instead.
Lawyer Gavin Brett who took to the video and sent it to latestsightings.com called the action “an incredible drama”. No doubt his family will never forget it.
