Gibsons offers 207 different milkshakes.
It's official, Gibson's has a world record.

A Cape Town restaurant is now the official top dog when it comes to offering the “Most Varieties of Milkshakes Commercially Available” according to the Guinness Book of Records.

Gibson’s Gourmet Burgers and Ribs offers a massive 207 different shakes on their menu, enough to satisfy any ice-cream enthusiast. Located in the tourist hub of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, Gibson’s didn’t start out intending to hold a record as according to co-owner Ian Halfon, “When we initially opened up the restaurant, we had about 40 milkshakes.”

Due to popularity however this slowly grew over a period of five years to first 100, then 150 and finally the record-setting 207 milkshakes. Flavours include Peppermint crips, blueberry, salted caramel and even the brown cow, which blends vanilla ice-cream with Coca-cola in a super float. The store also offers fat-free, vegan and adults-only alcoholic options,

The milkshakes are mainly served in a standard 330mm glass, which Reuters describes as being “reminiscent of the American soda shop era of the 1930s”, are “double-thick” as standard and garnished with a variety of toppings depending on the order.
